Imaging Healthcare Specialists has implemented full field digital mammography at our centers in San Diego, Hillcrest, Encinitas, Poway, Golden Triangle, Southbay and Temecula. Digital mammography has numerous benefits when compared to traditional mammography including allowing the radiologist to manipulate the digital images to improve their ability to detect cancer in its early stages.
We supplement our mammography program with on-site breast MRI, ultrasound and biopsy services to ensure that questionable findings are followed up in the appropriate diagnostic fashion. Computer Aided Detection (CAD) is also utilized with mammography and breast MRI to further enhance the detection of small abnormalities.
Additional women’s imaging services offered at IHS include QCT bone mineral density tests for osteoporosis, varicose vein treatment and other services.
The Heart Imaging Center, located in the Golden Triangle area of La Jolla, offers the first outpatient 64-Slice CT scanner in San Diego County. Through the use of advanced multi-detector technology, the 64-Slice CT allows our radiologists to capture clear images of the beating heart and the coronary arteries, thus facilitating the diagnosis of existing heartdisease as well as evaluating the patient’s risk of developing heart disease in the future.
Coronary CT Angiography allows our cardiac experts to evaluate the heart’s vessels to see if there are areas of blockage, often avoiding a cardiac catheterization procedure, which is invasive and significantly more costly. The Heart Imaging Center also performs coronary artery calcium scoring exams, which help determine a person’s risk for heart disease based on the evidence of existing plaque found during the scan.

Show off your legs again! The San Diego Vein Center at Imaging Healthcare Specialists offers a new application of minimally invasive technology to treat unsightly and painful varicose veins. Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) uses state of the art ultrasound imaging to define effective treatment plans and then guide precise placement of a small fiber into unhealthy veins. The laser fiber is used to eliminate abnormal varicose veins. EVLT is virtually painless, usually takes less than an hour to perform and leaves no scars. With no significant recovery time, patients can once again look forward to wearing shorts and walking without pain. Unsightly spider veins are also treated at The Vein Center with the most advanced sclerotherapy treatments available.
